Finals

I hate finals, in my opinion they are a waste of time. The process gets redundant. You learn the content, review it, then have a test on it. Now that there are finals you learn the contect, review it, have a test on it, review it, then have another test. If you passed it the first time, why do they exist you do it again. It is almost like a reward for slackers. They make bad grades in then after the semester they get another shot to show what they know and raise their grade. A test is suppose to show you're knowledge of the content. If we are going to have finals then why do we have tests? What do we have to prove. You're either the type of student that is going to study and make grades like you have made in the past or you're going to wing it and you're grade will show it just like the past.

UK

With basketball in season, everyone is watching. So far UK is undefeated but I still cant stand to watch our team. They just look sloppy to me. We get a lead then we practically hand over the ball. I used to love watching the games when Sparks played. He wasnt the best but he was fun to watch. He could sink 3 pointers one after another when he got hot and that made it entertaining. When no one else would take the shots, Sparks would. Hopefully with our new coach we will get our team back on track.

Christmas

I'm excited for Christmas. The other day me and dad put up the icicle lights and reindeer with all the other stuff. We got the tree decorated the other day to. The presents wont be all that exciting this year though. I will either get money and a few little things or floorpans for my car. I'll probably get Dad tools because he said I need to save my money for college or the car, so I'll get tools for him needed for the car. Mom is hard to shop for. She doesnt have many hobbies and we never know what to buy her. I just love the holiday spirit the majority of people have.

Thanksgiving Food

My favorite foods on Thanksgiving would have to be dressing with cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. I really love all the foods but Thanksgiving wouldnt be the same without those. It's like a treat. We may have dressing or pumpkin pie other times of the year but it's rare. We always have turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, and other stuff too. We always have turkey, but I dont think I would care to much if we had chicken or ham instead.

The car

I've been disassembling the interior of my car. So far I've discovered that the majority of it will need to be replaced. The floor pans are rusted through so new metal shall be welded in place. The dash panel is cracked so I think I will replace it with a 93-02 F-body dash. The front seats are in horrible condition so instead of recovering them I beleive GTO seats would be an upgrade, of course I would have to have them partly recovered to remove the emborary. The headliner was missing when we bought the car as well as the dash speakers. Sound defining will be added and new weatherstripping to keep the cab area quite. It's been keeping me busy, but atleast I'll no I saved a piece of history from the junkyard.

Rain

I hate rain unless its storming. I love to hear thunder and see flashes of lightning but rain in general sucks. However rain does help me sleep, I love to listen to it. It's just that rain tends to put a damper on things. Outside is left wet and sloshy. It seems that everytime I wash my truck it rains the in the the next day or two. Unless your a farmer or the city is in a drought most people dont like rain in the middle of the day unless it gets them out of work or something else they may want to do.

Music

I like almost all genres of music. When I was little I always liked country. I grew up listening to George Straight, Brooks and Dunn, and Shania Twain. Then my taste's began to change. I used to love listening to Will Smith's Miami back in the day. Now I usually listen to rap. People always think its funny when I say I listen to DMX, Gucci, or Tech N9ne. I've always been considered some what of a redneck and I guess people think I wouldnt like rap. I even like oldies such as "Free Ride" and "Gimme Some a Lovin." I like all kinds of music.

Service

I had three uncles that served in the army, I've never really heard them talk about what they did in the past and I've never asked. My cousin is in the Marines. I've heard him talk about the training he has gone through but do to his position he probably will never see war. I know his training was some times brutal. In one event they tied his hands above his head and literally beat him so he wouldn't be apt to give the enemy vital information if he ever encounted them. I have a friend in the army and another friend that passed the test to become a Navy Seal, but he was discharged because of medical problems. I respect veterans but I do not think they deserve special treatment. It was their choice to serve. I would most likely never join the service, however if the time ever came to defending our country on American soil then I would gladly help defend it.

Halloween

I had a great Halloween. I woke up at 2 in the morning and left a 3am for Trenton, OH. I finally bought my car after 4 hours or so of driving. We loaded my 91 camaro up on the auto transport I rented and headed home. The car is a piece of crap for sure, but that's what I wanted. It's a good project car, almost everything will need to be replaced. Of course when I got home I wanted to show it off so I drove it around for a while then began to clean it up. I planned on hanging out with everyone that night but I ended up falling asleep at 8:00pm, no parties for me. However I ended up with the biggest treat out of any of my friends. I have been dying to begin my build and now that the car is in my possession it feels unreal. Today my brother is now the owner of two houses and 3 properties, so the only hold up is the shop. Everything has been going great. With the mowing season coming to an end these projects will keep my entertained the whole winter. After school I'm going to go check out the houses. I have still not seen the inside of either house, but I'm curious to see how much work they will need. You cant expect to good of quality considering both houses and the plots of land only cost $43,000. From what I've heard one of the houses needs to be demolished. There is also a shed/shop on the property that needs to go and my brother said it's packed with all kinds of things.

Im Excited.

My brother is suppose to find out if he will be given or denied the title of the 2 houses and 3 lots he is wanting to purchase. If all goes well I found a 1991 Camaro Z28 in Trenton, Ohio that I am going to purchase this coming saturday. I have been looking for weeks and I have not found any camaros that meet my standards, but this one does. I plan on seting off at 5:00 am, picking up the car, and then visiting my family in Louisville, Ky. I've been waiting to start on my build for what seems like a life time now. I just cant wait to get things going my way. Business has also been slow due to the cold weather. Between working on the car and fixing up the houses I should be able to entertain myself for a good while.

Scary Movies

I like scary movies. I find them more shocking or suprising than scary. When things jump out out at you they really arent scary, they just are unexpected. Some times movies are scary but usually the feeling only last a few hours. I like the rush of being scared. I wish they made more realistic scary movies. Most horror films are comical or just plain dumb and they are typically predictable. I hate the shaking gun scenes for instance. It's so annoying to watch someone scream and cry and shake holding a gun and no pullin the trigger or missing the target at point blank range. I dont care if they are unrealistic, I love fiction, the scenes just need to be realistic.

Afraid

I have never been afraid of much of anything. There has never been a monster under my bed or in my closet. The darkness makes things less familiar but it's nothing to be scared of. I do have fears, I hate heights for example. Under the right circumstances anyone can overcome their fears. 99% of the time fear is associated with unfamiliar situations. Once you get familiar with your surrounds you will be at ease. Some people are scared to death to drive for the first time, but I'm sure they couldn't think less about it after a few months.

Autumn

To me Autumn means alot of things. I think about the leaves changing, cool weather, pumpkins, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Of course those ideas lead to new ideas. As the leaves begin to change they begin to fall, now my job will consist of more yard clean up. Every Thanksgiving we either go to my grandparents' house or my unle's house to eat and socialize. Everyone typically makes it in around Thanksgiving except my Texas relatives. Autum in general makes me think of pumkin pie and I love pumpkin pie. While Halloween used to be fun, now I find it annoying. I hate having people knocking constantly on the door, greedy kids, and barking dogs. I know the younger kids love it just like I did though. I wouldn't want to spil their fun, so we answer the door with a smile and give out candy every year.

Traveling

I believe you have to live with some one before you truly know them. Some people you hang out with at school or work may be someone completely different in their personal life. Everyone can tolerate certain characteristics, but when you are forced to live with someone you begin to speak your mind more frequently. Everyone has secrets and sometimes the truth comes out. I myself have an anger problem, but very few people have seen that side of me. I have a short fuse but it's hard to lite. I can go from happy to physical in just a few seconds, I dont really have an angry phase. It takes a lot to get me upset but when you do trust me you'd notice. I'm pretty nice to most people, I dont look violent, and I take jokes better than most people. You would never think I could get so mad. I'm sure everyone has something most people do not know about them.

Weapons/Law

My family has a thing for weapons. My great, great, great uncle was "Bugs" Moran. He was Al Capones enemy, he put the hit on him which is more commonly known as the St. Valentines Massacre. In our house hold we have about 25 guns since my brother moved out. I prefer knives over guns, I started collecting them a long time ago. I now own around one hundred give or take. When my Uncle Joe moved he filled his truck with nothing but ammunition for one trip. My other Uncle, Butch, is a state trooper and my brother is about to join O.P.D. or he is pondering the idea of border patrol. While you wont see the Hodskins name in the paper much, some of the family members cant seem to stay out. Chris Hodskins is my second cousin if that tells you anything. I guess we like to have authority, whether it be joining the force or having the weapons for defense.

Crazy Neighbor

Ever since I was born I have lived in the same house. I used to live next to Roger Jones, a teacher here at Apollo. He recently moved away. The new neighbors that moved in have many problems. The womans boyfriend tried strangling her within a few weeks of their arrival. My mom found at that and some other things aftertalking to her for a while. She claims to have been to scared to have pressed charges in the past, which I think is dumb, but she finally did. They arrested him on a federal offense because they had proof of him stealing her mail. When he was takin to jail, he got one phone call. He called her and said that he was going to cut her into a million pieces with a chainsaw. Almost seems unbelievable but thats exactly what happened. When he was released he came to her house and there was 5 or 6 police cars outside. He has left the neighbors alone for now, but who knows what will happen next. It's weird knowing what I know no, considering I stood face to face with him the day they moved in.

Spring

Spring makes me think over flower's blooming and the bright sun. I also think about allergies when I think about spring. I love all the seasons of the year. Winter gets old after a while and when spring starts to come its like waking up from a bad dream, you're just glad its over. Spring also means more work to be done. Winter is a slow time for Hodskins Lawn Care, but as soon as spring arrives customers are wanting yard work to be done. Fall is probably my favorite season.

Class subjects

Last period all we talked about was spelling words corrently. I found that irritating considering it's not an english class. What does it matter if you add an apostrophe where it doesnt belong in economics class? Mr. Wethington once said enough, "E-N-U-F-F." When someone corrected him he had to explain to them that they were in math class. I hate when teachers take off for grammar mistakes, if its legible and easy to understand then what's the big deal. Only in english should these mistakes be corrected. Proper english should be used no matter what the subject, but points should not be deducted.

The Potatoe

Potatoes are my favorite vegetable. At most restraunts I will order mashed potatoes and french fries. I remember when I was younger I used to have a Mr. Potatoe Head toy that cames from the movie Toy Story. I could easily live without potatoes, but I would hate it. My perfect meal always includes potatoes. I dont have a clue what McDonalds at other fast food restraunts would sell as sides if french fries were not an option. Potatoes are great!

UFC

I am a big mixed martial arts fan. I think MMA is the best sport out there in todays time. Some people believe its to violent, but I cant get enough of it. I like to watch it and even train in the sport itself. My favorite UFC fighters are Rampage Jackson, Tito Ortiz, and Dan Henderson. I have always liked boxing but have never went through any professional training. I planned on taking Ju-Jitsu and the beginning of last summer, but I dislocated my knee. I may take it up at college if the classes are offered.

Camaro Restoration

My first car was a 1992 Camaro Z28 25th anniversary addition. The third generation Camaro's have always appealed to me. I had to sell the car due to the scarcity of parts available. Used parts were hard to find in good condition and new parts were very expensive. At graduation I had a shot at the 2010 Camaro SS, but due to its low production numbers and high demand they are selling 10-20 thousand dollars over suggestion retail. Since the 5th generation is out of the question the plan is to buy another 91-92 Camaro and to a complete rebuild. Dad is an ASE certified mechanic and we have some experiennce with autobody. If all goes we'll it should be completed within a year. I plan to drop a GM 6.2L V8 in the car as well as a 4L60E transmission. When the car is complted and the other modification are installed the car should be putting out over 500 horses, which technically should be faster than the 2010 Camaro. More horsepower and less weight. I can't wait until the build takes place.

Sept 8

I just finished the Beowulf Chapter Test. I am fairly confident that I made an A or a high B. I thought the questions were straight forward. The only question that really threw me off is how he came to know about Herot's situation. I thought Beowulf had heard about Grendel from a sailors song. The essay was extremely easy with the use of our notes. I just copied the information from the handout "Beowulf vs Grendel" onto the test. Hopefully all the test will be like this. I understood the book thanks to our class discussions and completed the studyguide, so the information on the test was nothing knew.

Aug 24

Today after school I have to work. We have to weedeat a cementary and mow 3 surrounding fields. It should take about 4 and a half hours plus drive time. I hate weedeating but I need the money. I am saving up for my new car. On graduation I'm suppose to be getting the 2010 Camaro SS or if the price doesnt come down I should get the G8 GT. The more money I make the better shot I have at getting exactly what I want. Here in about 10 minutes I will leave for co-op then its off to work. There's really nothing else on my mind.
